TASA President’s Year-End Message

As we wrap up another incredible season, I am proud to reflect on what has been a truly remarkable year for TASA. Our association has continued to build on its momentum, and teams at every level have experienced success like never before. It’s a testament to the commitment, passion, and dedication that runs through our entire organization.

At TASA, we take great pride in providing best-in-class player development. This would not be possible without the leadership of our Director of Hockey Development, Kyle MacDonald, and our Goalie Coordinator, Ben Meisner. Their expertise, along with the efforts of our highly skilled coaching staff, ensures that our players are supported, challenged, and given every opportunity to grow—both on and off the ice.

Equally important to our success are the volunteers who form the heartbeat of our association. From team-level volunteers to our executive, your time, energy, and commitment make everything we do possible. TASA is stronger because of you, and I sincerely thank each and every one of you for your contributions this season.

As my term as President comes to an end, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make these years so meaningful and successful. It has been an honour to serve this association and this community. While I will be moving into the Past President role, I look forward to continuing to support TASA and staying actively involved.

We are welcoming new board members this year, and I am genuinely excited about the leadership, ideas, and energy this executive will bring. The future of TASA is in great hands, and I am confident that our association will continue to grow and thrive in the years ahead.

Finally, I encourage all of our members to consider volunteering—no matter your experience level. Even if you are new to hockey, there is a place for you here. TASA is not only a great place for players to learn the game, but also for families and community members to get involved and make a difference.

Thank you all for an outstanding season. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in the years to come.

2025 TASA Annual General Meeting Minutes

Below is your TASA executive for the 2026-2027 Hockey Season.  We have welcomed two new members to the executive. Please welcome Jeff Snow as Business Development VP and Joy Bennett as Social Media Manager. 

AGM / TASA Nominating Committee

The Annual General Meeting of TASA Minor Hockey will be held on Wednesday, June 10th from 6:30-8:00 pm at St. Margaret’s Centre, Meeting Rooms 1 & 2. 

The nominating committee, which included Sheldon MacKinnon, Mark Walker and Mark Richardson, has put forth the following candidates for the TASA Executive for the 2026-2027 season.   Each position is a 2-year team. 

At this point, the membership may nominate individuals for executive positions up until midnight on May 26^th by providing written notice at president@tasa.ca. Individuals must meet the qualifications and prerequisites for the position, which can be found on the TASA website.

The nomination must include the following: 

• the name of the individual 

• the position they are being nominated for 

• the consent of the nominee to serve in the position. 

• the signatures of at least five members in good standing 

A list of candidates will be posted to the website May 31st. If only one nomination exists for a position, that person will win by acclamation. Should two or more nominations exist for a position, a vote will be held at the Annual General Meeting to determine who will hold the position for the upcoming season.
